Nasdaq-listed Brera Holdings PLC has become the second multi-club ownership group in Italy’s Serie B league. It is now an elite owner in Italian football along with City Football Group.

The Dublin-based company has achieved this feat by purchasing the SS Juve Stabia club. It is now in direct competition with City Football Group’s Palermo FC.

Historic meeting in Rome

Representatives of the two groups met at the Serie B Owners Meetings in Rome on July 23, 2025. Brera Executive Chairman Daniel J. McClory and Palermo FC President Dario Mirri attended.

“It was a pleasure to be welcomed into this special ownership group by Serie B League President Paolo Bedin,” said McClory.

At this meeting, all 20 Serie B teams shared their data and discussed plans for the 2025-26 season.

City Football Group’s Italian presence

City Football Group, owned by Abu Dhabi United Group, owns Palermo FC in Italy. The group also owns Manchester City FC, which won the English Premier League for the fourth time in a row in 2024.

This makes City Football Group a strong competitor to Brera in the Italian market.

Juve Stabia’s rising value

Brera’s SS Juve Stabia club has shown great progress under new ownership. The club’s market value increased by 245% to $32 million in the 2024-25 season.

Known as “Naples’ second team,” Juve Stabia reached the semi-finals of the Serie A promotion playoffs after promotion from Serie C. The club’s value increasing from $9.3 million to $32 million reflects its growing strength.

Strategic market position

Brera Holdings is the first multi-club ownership group to be publicly traded on the Nasdaq. This provides investors with the opportunity to invest directly in the football club portfolio business model.
