The Shipping Boys 2018 LFA First Division match day-four game against LPRC Oilers which was scheduled for Wednesday, September 5 was postponed after six LISCR FC’s players made the final team for Liberia’s African Cup of Nations qualifiers against DR Congo. The game was postponed in keeping with the rules if the 2018 league.

With the match been rescheduled for today, Coach Tapha Manneh and his boys will have to get a win if they are to move at the top of Group B table. LPRC Oilers are seated at the top of the table with seven points, two more than LISCR that is second with five points from three games.

With LPRC Oilers being one of the two teams Tapha Manneh played and yet to win in Liberia, the match has turned out to a “Clash of the titans.” Under Tapha Manneh, LISCR FC has played LPRC Oilers four times without a win. His first encounter with LPRC was on December 12, 2016 in the 2016-17 First Division League which ended goalless. The second time the two teams played under Coach Tapha Manneh was in the 2016-17 Liberia Diaspora Tournament in which LPRC advanced to the final after eliminating LISCR FC in the semifinals.

A time for revenge was the return leg of the 2016-17 first division league match which ended two apiece. Ten-man LISCR FC secured a hard fought 2-2 draw to maintain their unbeaten run. Their latest meeting was in the 2018 LISCR Unification Cup where LISCR was beaten on penalties in the final.

With all those results, Tapha is aware that it is not going to be an easy match but expect his boys to pull out a win. He told LISCR FC media that his team primary focus is to win.

“We have just one objective and that is to win. It is not going to be an easy match but we are prepared for it. We have had difficult times against them which we are aware off. However, that is football. We are going on the pitch to win”, Tapha told LISCR FC media.
